Niger State Government has extended schools’ resumption across the state to January 18. Basic and Secondary Schools are expected to commence a new academic session then.
A statement by the Commissioner of Education, Hannatu Salihu, said that the extension is in line with the state government’s measures to curtail the second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The statement urged parents and other community members to stay safe and comply with the safety protocols as advised by health workers.
It added that observing social distancing, regular hand washing, as well as the use of face masks are very vital.
