Members of the Niger State House of Assembly have assured Governor Abubakar Bello of support to ensure the safe return of the recent kidnapped victims.

Speaker Abdullahi Bawa gave the assurance when he led members of the State Assembly on a visit to the Governor in Government House.

Speaker Bawa expressed concerns and worries over the recent kidnap incidents involving the state’s Transport Authority passengers and students, staff, and family members of Government Science College, Kagara.

He told the governor that the House of Assembly will amend a law that will punish informants of kidnappers.

He stressed the need for the governor to strengthen his relationship with traditional rulers, as a means of curtailing the influx of strangers.

Governor Bello assured the lawmakers that they are taking adequate measures to ensure the safe return of the kidnap victims.

The Governor also said he will meet with all the traditional rulers and Fulani leaders on Tuesday next week.
