New EU Copyright Laws impose stricter rules on Tech Firms

Yesterday, the European Union made public a new revision to a copyright law that if implemented will have Technology platforms sign license agreements with publishers before content can be put online.

Additions such as the link tax which mandates news aggregators such as Google News and the likes to pay a fee and obtain licenses from publishers before linking their stories will ensue.

However, some tech companies have contested the laws citing that it inhibits the intended use of the Internet which is to share information freely.
