264 players from 27 registered states will be competing at the Scrabble events of the ongoing National Sports Festival taking place in Asaba , the registered states is four more than what was registered at the last Festival in Benin City, Edo State.
Sixteen gold medals are up for grab in four categories at the Festival – Masters, Intermediate, Opens and Female are the events.
President of Nigeria Scrabble Federation, Engineer Toke Aka said all events will be keenly contested and some of the participants who are dark horses are expected to throw surprises in the war of words and stake a claim to the titles.
