Museveni appoints Son-in-Law as Presidential Advisor for Unique Projects

Amidst the social media ban, heightened security presence, and an election that is almost closed off from external observation, Museveni is in an early lead with 65% of the poll while Bobi Wine, his most ferocious opponent follows with 25%.

Bobi Wine who claims the greatest crime in Uganda is to contest against the President has disclosed that he would contest the results of the election. In the run-up to the election, Yoweri Museveni shut down all social media after Facebook shut down some government-affiliated accounts that violated its policies.

A day afterward, an internet blackout was enforced in the East African nation. In an interview with Robert Kyagulanyi as he cast his ballot, he claimed that in 22 districts, polling agents, coordinators, and polling assistants are on the run due to being treated like criminals.

The footages that have surfaced from the nation have shown peaceful casing of ballots, voters waiting to have the ballots counted but are limited, especially considering the ban.

The United States had cancelled its observation of the Ugandan Presidential elections day to the set date on grounds that accreditation requests were denied and preempted that the elections would lack transparency and accountability.
