Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata has joined Juventus on a season-long loan deal. The loan deal is worth €9 million. There is also an option to extend the loan deal till June 2022 and to buy the player for €45 million in June 2021.

Formerly, Morata spent two seasons at Juventus between 2014 and 2016. Real Madrid then activated the buyback clause in his contract. He spent just one season at Madrid and left for Chelsea in search of first-team football.

The 27-year-old found it difficult to adapt to the English Premier League. He was only able to register 15 goals in all competitions at the end of the 2017/18 season.

In January 2019, midway through his second season at Chelsea, Morata joined Atletico Madrid. It was for an initial two-year loan deal with an option to buy but Atletico made the deal permanent in the summer of 2019.

During the recently concluded 2019/20 season, Morata struggled for goals again. He registered 16 goals in 44 appearances. With the imminent arrival of Luis Suarez at Atletico, Morata has returned to Turin.

The Spanish International will be playing under former teammate Andrea Pirlo who is now the Juventus manager. At Juventus, Morata would link up with a former striker partner in Cristiano Ronaldo.
