The new Commissioner of Police, CP, for Niger State, Monday Kuryas, has officially assumed duty.

The Commissioner of Police succeeded the immediate past CP who is now Assistant Inspector General of Police, Adamu Usman, who has also been posted to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

The 35th Commissioner of Police in Niger State worked in some parts of the country and served as Commissioner of Police, Anti-Fraud Section in Lagos.

Kuryas hails from Kurya Daddu, in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State. He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1990.

The graduate of Political Science from Usmanu Dan Fodio University Sokoto is a specialist, who foiled so many high-profile cases of armed robbery, banditry, and kidnapping in different parts of Nigeria.
