The Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo has disclosed plans that the government is working in partnership with the technology giant, Microsoft to create opportunities for Nigerians over the next few months.
The initiatives which includes improving internet penetration across the six geopolitical zones is looking to upskilling five million nigerians over the next three years, will involve 1,700 trainers who will provide both online and in-person training courses. They also plan to create 27,000 new jobs over the next three years.
The initiatives include a digital transformation that will address corruption by designing cloud-based tools to fight corruption which results in a $3.6 trillion loss each year.
The second involves helping to protect Nigeria’s cultural heritage by deploying artificial intelligence tools in partnership with the National Institute of Cultural Orientation by promoting the languages.
