The Lagos State Government has declared 67 percent off the cost to squatters on the Lagos State University (LASU) land at Ojo.

The reduction has brought the sum from N3.9 million down to N1.25 million for squatters.

Media reports say that the property involved is about 682 hectares of land that belongs to the Lagos State University.

Deputy Governor, Dr Idiat Adebule, on behalf of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, said that the decrease followed due process and took into cognizance the overall state of the economy.

The Governor also said that following their demands, the landlords would no longer be tenants of LASU authorities, and would instead be tenants of the state government.
