Lagos has reported the largest number of new cases, with 119, as many locals are concerned about the escalating number of cases. The latest infection results in Lagos on Tuesday brought the state’s share of the country’s overall number of infections to 60,638 cases, with 450 deaths since the country’s index case in 2020.

The escalating number of cases, particularly in the previous week, prompted the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to issue an appeal to citizens to follow all coronavirus standards and protocols to the letter.
In a statement, Mr Sanwo-Olu thanked the residents for their cooperation thus far and cautioned against becoming too tired. He described the state’s fight against the virus as “strategic,” implying that a failure in Lagos may be disastrous for the country as a whole.S

tudents at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, and other tertiary institutions in the state have reported an upsurge in flu-like symptoms and increased awareness of the ailment.
Meanwhile, the NCDC said on Tuesday that, in addition to the 119 cases reported in Lagos, Akwa Ibom came in second with 11 new cases.

Six cases were reported in Rivers State, five in Oyo, and four in each of Ogun and Ekiti states.
FCT and Gombe both had two infections, while Kwara reported just one case. According to the NCDC, there have been 164,623 recoveries in Nigeria so far, with 2,119 cases currently active across the country.

Of Nigeria’s about 200 million p, about two million persons have been tested for the virus.
