Prof. Akin Abayomi has via his twitter profile announced to have tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Despite not showing any symptoms he will begin a 14-day isolation period and will continue to work as the Deputy Incident Commander.
Abayomi who has been in the forefront in the battle against the pandemic and seen in close company with the Governor has disclosed that he has the full support of the Governor and the entire Cabinet of the Lagos State Government.
He also took the opportunity to encourage all to continue to social distance. The current count of COVID-19 in the Country is at 52,227 with Lagos State recording a surge of 404 cases in the state alone. We wish him a speedy recovery.
