The Lagos State Government paid N720.445 million into the Retirement Savings Accounts, (RSA) of 190 retirees who are part of the Contributory Pension Scheme, last month.
In a statement from the Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) to the retirees, the Commissioner, Ministry of Establishment, Training, and Pensions, Dr. Akintola Oke said each month, pensioners were always added to the payroll priority of Lagos State, and that the state was happy that it had resolved the backlog that was present at the beginning of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s administration.
Director-General LASPEC, Mrs. Folasade Onanuga, thanked the retirees for contributing to the development of the state and assured them that the governor is committed to their welfare as retirees.
The DG urged the retirees to be wise in their spending.
