Lagos Ranks Second Worst City to Live in Globally

Based on a survey by the Economist Intelligence Unit, Lagos Nigeria now ranks the second-worst city to live in globally today after Damascus.

The research and analysis were based on a survey between February and March 2021 focusing on issues such as border closure, healthcare, culture, education, and infrastructure based on unit ratings.

On the high side, Auckland in New Zealand ranks as the best city to live in globally, based on its ability to stem the spread of the pandemic.

It is believed that the #ENDSARS protest caused some detriment to the overall statistics for Lagos State due to the civil unrest.

“These continue to score poorly across the five categories. A consistently low stability score, owing to ongoing civil unrest and military conflicts, is the reason behind most of these cities featuring in the bottom ten. However, conditions have deteriorated even further as a result of Covid-19—particularly for healthcare.”
