A tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), often known as petrol today exploded at Mile 2, Otto wharf area of Lagos State.
The General Manager of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, who confirmed the incident said that the LASEMA RESPONSE TEAM, LASEMA RESPONSE UNIT FIRE, alongside LAGS FIRE and FED FIRE are currently battling the inferno to contain it.
The agency said it activated its response plan to distress calls at the above location, and upon arrival, a fire outbreak from a fuel tanker and drums was encountered.
Members of the public have been advised to refrain from using any naked flame, while motorists are also advised to avoid the area.
