Murtala Ajaka, the Social Democratic Party candidate in the November 2023 governorship election in Kogi State, has accused the election of being rigged in favor of Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Ajaka, argued that contesting the poll’s outcome is a waste of time as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would be present to defend the poll’s results. Ododo won the poll with 446,237 votes, defeating Ajaka’s 259,052 votes. Ajaka claimed that figures were inflated in favor of Ododo, who was an ally of the outgoing governor, Yahaya Bello.
