Outcry as Kenyans in China especially those in Guangdong, are been faced with racial attacks. Kenyans living in China have been thrown back to the street and now depend on people for food and other basic things for survival. One of the aftermaths of the coronavirus pandemic in China is an incessant racial attack on Africans.

As reported, Police in China is making Kenyans forcefully evacuate their homes and seizing their legal documents. According to one of the Kenyans kicked out, some Chinese Police allow them to keep their passports while others go away with it. The racial discrimination is glaring and out there as posters are up in Malls requesting Blacks to stay away. And even restaurants asking Africans not to come in.

The woman living in Guangdong stated that she has been living in fear since the racial attack on Africans, waiting for the bang on her door bundling her to live off the street. According to her, she cannot go to the store or step out to get basic things as this will be exposing her to the danger of forceful evacuation from her home.

Kenyans suffering for this are now pleading on the Kenyan government to see ti their return back home to avoid the racial attack launched on them. The same Kenyan woman who asked her identity to remain undisclosed stated that they are been discriminated against on no bases of a criminal offence, but because they are seen to be asymptomatic carriers of COVID-19.

Kenyans at home have reacted bitterly and angry to the racial attack launched on fellow Kenyans in China. Some took to Social media and called out China for pushing the blame at others for the problem ‘that they caused’. They asked for other countries to not turn a blind eye and join in standing up to the racial attack melted out on Kenyans in China.

Narok Senator Ledama ole Kina admonished Africa to stand up against the COVID-19 stirred xenophobia in China. Angry Citizens melted out their anger on  Sarah Serem the Ambassador of the Kenya Embassy in China for not batting an eyelid to the racial attack on Kenyans.

@kimathiwamuthee  a Kenyan took to  Twitter to call out Sarah Serem and also questioned why Sarah is till bearing the title Ambassador. Till now, the Kenya Embassy in China has not reacted to the situation.

According to the Foreign Ministry spokesperson at the Chinese Embassy in Nairobi, Hong Lei, all foreign Nationals are treated equally in China and no form of racial attack. According to him, China has zero-tolerance for discrimination. He also admonished foreigners to observe local anti-epidemic regulations and help China in the fight against COVID-19.
