uproar as chinese plane lands in kenya

Yesterday, Wednesday, 26th of February, a plane from Guangzhou, China landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Nairobi, Kenya. The plane was of China Southern Airline, carrying 239 passengers.

Amid the fear of the Covid19 (Coronavirus), the arrival of the plane carrying so many passengers from China set many Kenyans off, their responses weren’t positive.

The Kenya Ministry of Health released a statement saying that all the passengers were screened and cleared before they exited the plane and they were all advised to self-quarantine themselves for the next two weeks.

The China Southern Airline resumed its operations to Kenya yesterday. Some people advised the government through their social media to shut down its borders until the situation was declared safe by the World Health Organization.

About 2,700 deaths from the Covid19 has been reported so far and 80,239 cases confirmed.
