Kenya Airways Pilots plead with Kenyatta to help preserve their Jobs

Just after Kenya Airways made history with its inaugural direct flight to New York two weeks ago, the national airline is set to launch direct flights to Mogadishu, Somalia’s capital on Thursday, November 15th.

The commencement of the daily flight operations is also a first in a decade with an aim to improve Intra-Africa air connectivity. Sebastian Mikosz, the Group Managing Director of Kenya Airways says the addition of the route opens new opportunities for corporate investors, traders and tourist.

In 2006, Kenya had suspended direct flights to Mogadishu due to increased terror threats and attacks by Al-Shabaab.

Recall that barely a week ago, Ethiopia Airways also made its first landing in Mogadishu after 4 decades of absence.
