Kenya orders closing of all Refugee Camps within two weeks

Kenya’s President, Uhuru Kenyatta is making significant progress with the bilateral Kenya-United States Free Trade Agreement (FTA) that will allow for the two nations to trade goods and services.

The two countries started negotions around July of 2020, but due to the pandemic things slowed down. However, the Biden administration has expressed optimism on continuing the conversation.

Kenya has just announced a few weeks back that they had just secured a similar arrangement with the United Kingdom and hopes to do the same with the United States. Kenya and the United States traded $1.1 billion in 2019 alone. Kenya mostly exports textile and apparels, agricultural products and artefacts.

The United States is Kenya’s third largest export market.
