Controversial music star Kanye West, no doubt, has been the centre of attention for a while now, no thanks to the fact that he has been putting his Twitter fingers to use lately.

West has been tweeting on different issues, with many of them turning out to be controversial.

But the father of 3, who is also a renowned fashion designer, ace record producer and rapper, seemed to have taken a break on Twitter. However, he turned up at the TMZ newsroom yesterday, only to stir yet another controversy.

In an interview with Harvey Levin and Charles Latibeudire on TMZ LIVE, West made comments insinuating that slavery was a choice, and that’s it’s more of a thing of mental imprisonment. His argument, he said, is informed by the fact that black people stayed in it for 400 years, even though they had the advantage of the numbers. He chose the word prison because he believes that slavery is more attributed to black people as Holocaust is to Jews. But he reasoned that prison, on the other hand, can be attributed to the human race at large.

Kanye West went on to explain his support for President Donald Trump, after his last week controversial twitter tirade that cost him 9 million followers in 10 minutes. He had tweeted a picture of himself wearing a “make America Great Again” hat. He referred to Trump as his boy and one of raps favourite people.

Mr West further explained that he doesn’t want to be minimized into just being an artist, hip-hop or a black community activist. He said even though he represents all that, he also represents the world.

Kanye blames his recent Twitter frenzy on him feeling being free and thinking freely. he defines that freedom as ‘doing something everyone tells you not to do’.

According to Kanye, the society has become mentally imprisoned

After the session, Van Lathan, a reporter for TMZ, expressed his disappointment and disgust at Kanye’s recent behaviour. Kanye later apologised to him, saying: “bro, I’m sorry I hurt you”
