The Federal Government has reacted to the ruling of the Appeal Court which discharged the leader of the outlawed Indegenious People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu of the terrorism charges levelled against him by the Nigerian Government.

On Thursday, an Appeal Court, in Abuja had thrashed the case of terrorism leveled against Kanu, a decision many translated to mean his likely immediate release from detention.

In reacting to the Appeal Court’s decision, The Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami said Kanu had not been acquitted as there are other cases against him.

The Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammed Dingyadi said Kanu was only discharged, adding that National Security Council is considering the appropriate action to be taken on the matter.
