The Federal High Court sitting in Umuahia, Abia state has scheduled Tuesday to hear the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu’s extraordinary rendition suit filed before it in March.

Kanu’s special counsel, Aloy Ejimakor who confirmed this in a statement said that the suit, which he described as of special class, “is primarily aimed at redressing the unlawful expulsion or extraordinary rendition of Kanu, which is a violation of his fundamental rights under Article 12(4) of the African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights, as well as Chapter IV of the Nigerian Constitution.”

He said that Kanu, in the suit, is asking the court to redress myriad of violations that came with his rendition, such as torture, unlawful detention and denial of the right to fair hearing as required by law before anybody can be expelled from one country to the other.
