Kano Assembly Screens Commissioner Nominees

Four commissioners nominees sent to Kano State House of Assembly for confirmation by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje have been screened and subjected to questions by the 40-member Assembly.

 swearing in of the nominees is expected when Governor Ganduje returns from a foreign trip.

At the plenary, Majority Leader of the House, Baffa Dan Agundi, moved for the screening of the nominees and was seconded by Abdulaziz Garba, from Ajingi Constituency.

The nominees, Mohammad Tahir, Bashir Karaye, Shehu Kura, and Mukhtar Ishak-Yakasai, all appeared before the House.

The nominees took turns to share their educational background and work experience and responded to questions from the legislators.

The House also commiserated with the family of one of the nominees, Muhammad Tahir, whose son was killed by bandits in Zamfara.
