One thing US President, Joe Biden has made clear in his short time as president is that there will be no room for cyberattacks. Not too long ago, he placed hefty sanctions on Russia on grounds of cyber-interference in the 2020 elections among other things.

The hackers of colonial pipelines also couldn’t access their crypto payload of $5 million as well as their servers, all disappeared without a trace, and the hackers finally decided to stop their operations and also set free their other victims who had not yet paid their ransom. Something many believe have some government influence

Now, new directives will be issued requiring all U.S pipeline operators to report all cyber incidents to the federal government. They will also be required to complete a self-assessment of existing cybersecurity systems for known vulnerabilities and some others to address the issues highlighted by the hack attack that caused a major fuel scarcity for close to 10 days.
