Primary school teachers in Jigawa State have decried the delay in the payment of salaries.
They appealed to the Jigawa State Governor to intervene and directed all the local governments to pay their workers’ salaries on time.
Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar however said that the delay in the salary payment of primary and junior secondary school teachers is a result of the delay in Federal Government allocation, and further explained that initially, the state was borrowing money for the local governments to pay their workers’ salaries and pay them back whenever they receive their allocation.
