Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board, JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, says the examination body is contemplating a shift in the initial dates scheduled for the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination registration and test.

Professor Oloyede who made this known on Friday at a zoom meeting on “briefing session for the committees on 2021 UTME”, said the move is a result of delayed registration associated with the NIN requirement and release of passwords for candidates.

The Registrar said JAMB expects over 1.9 million candidates to have registered, but so far only 1.2 million have successfully registered with about 600,000 yet to complete the registration process for the test due to NIN verification.

Oloyede, however, added that extending the registration may not be the solution if it finds out that it can give 80 per cent of those who have made attempt another password, then there will be no need to extend the exercise.

The UTME had been slated to hold between June 5 and 19, 2021, while the Mock UTME test would begin on May 20 as earlier scheduled by the Board.
