Jamal Khashoggi: No settlement discussion for family yet – Son

The family of the murdered Saudi Journalist, Jamal Khashoggi have denied discussing any settlement terms out of court with the Saudi Authorities.

Salah Khashoggi, son of the slain journalist on Wednesday posted a statement on his verified twitter handle which reads “Currently, the trial is taking place and no settlement discussion had been or is discussed”.

This debunks the Washington post report on April 1 which claimed the family were settled by the Saudi government and paid handsomely.

Jamal Khashoggi was a Washington post Journalist and a critic of the Saudi government. He was killed and dismembered at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. The whereabouts of his body are still unknown.

The Saudi crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman was accused of being the mastermind behind the killing. At first, he denied having any knowledge of it but later blamed some agents after a Turkish television station released a CCTV clip.

The CCTV clip showed some men carrying cases and bags believed to contain the hacked body of Jamal Khashoggi.

Saudi’s prosecutor has charged 11 people over the murder of the Journalist whose last words were ‘I can’t breathe’ as reported by CNN.
