The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has dismissed the allegation linking its Eastern Security Network, ESN, to planned attacks on banks in some parts of the region in order to raise money for acquisitions of arms.

The pro-Biafra group in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, accused the Department of State Services, DSS, of “fabricating propaganda to blackmail and dent their reputation”.

The IPOB, however, admitted that they produce the arms they use locally, hence do not need to attack or kidnap anybody for money to buy arms.

The Nnamdi Kanu-led secessionist group insisted that they are not criminals and have no plans to touch any institution including banks.
