Instagram co-founders, Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger have resigned from Facebook Inc. as the tensions with Mark Zuckerberg over the direction of Instagram increases.
The co-founders who joined Facebook after the acquisition by Facebook for $715m in 2012, had been able to keep the affairs of Instagram independent of Facebook while relying on their infrastructure to grow.
Zuckerberg’s increasing involvement in the day to day running of Instagram in planning for Facebook’s future has become rather frustrating for the Instagram co-founders.
The co-founders who disclosed their decision in a blog post said they were going to utilize the opportunity to explore their creativity once more.
