Despite Nigeria’s insurmountable challenges, her 61st independence anniversary as an undivided nation no doubt calls for celebration.

Amid the celebration, a cross-section of citizens in Delta State want the Buhari-led administration to carefully examine issues of national interest such as insecurity, economic hardships amongst others that have not only saddened the masses but has also jeopardized the country’s unity.

Nigeria @61 is another celebration for her government and citizens as the country marks over six decades of nationhood.

Although Nigeria is presently facing daunting challenges that have forced some citizens to beat the drums for secession, a cross-section of residents in Delta state still believes that the country will fare better as a nation undivided.

While the Nigerian government appears to raise hopes for a better future, there are, however, some issues of national interest which citizens, particularly those from the southern part of the country want to be addressed.

Nonetheless, every Nigerian yearns to live in a country that is peaceful.
