Imo Bandit Attack: Two Operatives Killed—NSCDC

The Imo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has confirmed the killing of two of its men by bandits in Obiangwu in the Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

The state spokesman for the corps, Chimeziri Noel, who confirmed the incident, said as part of the primary assignment and mandate of the agency, the officers were on routine monitoring of some critical national assets and infrastructure in the area when the incident occurred.

Noel said the NSCDC officers were attacked and killed by bandits in the early hours of Monday, adding that their bodies had been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre in Owerri. He added that security has been beefed up in the area.
