The Islamic Movement Of Nigeria has dismissed claims its protests within Nigeria’s federal capital Abuja are illegal and a breach of public peace.

The group says it will continue its protests until its controversial leader Ibrahim El-Zakzakky is released from government custody, despite recent attacks on protesters of the movement by security agencies.

Several members of the group were recently killed when the Nigerian Army opened fire on its members during the group’s arbaen trek.
