The management of the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company, IKEDC, has denied knowledge of any planned increase on tariff as currently being speculated in different quarters.
Speaking to reporters in Lagos Saturday, spokesperson of the distribution company, Akinola Ayeni, said the IKEDC was yet to receive any official memo from the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission, as it relates to the planned increase in tariff scheduled to commence September 1.
The spokesperson, however, noted that the company is monitoring development with a view to understanding the issues at stake before taking a final stand on the issue.
