Igangan Killings: Residents flee troubled town

Following the Saturday night killings in Igangan, the people of the community in the Ibarapa area of Oyo State are beginning to flee from the town for the fear of the unknown.

Some of the leaders of the border town between Ogun and Oyo states narrated their ordeal while leaders of Odua People’s Congress, OPC, Rotimi Olumo and Agbekoya Olasunkanmi Raji, blamed the Federal Government for acting very late to incessant kidnapping in the country.

They also said they have lost confidence In the security architecture of the country.

Oyo State’s main opposition party All Progressives Congress, APC, had called on the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, to wake up to the reality of insecurity steering the pacesetter state in the face. 

The opposition party made the statement while reacting to Saturday’s overnight killings and burning of many properties in the Igangan area of Ibarapa. 

The APC, according to the statement signed by the party’s Oyo Publicity Secretary, Abdulazeez Olatunde, described the overnight killing and arson on the sleepy community of Igangan as one too many.
