Hong Kong protesters have in light of the festivities organised an unconventional Christmas dinner piled with food under street lights to commemorate the yuletide season.

According to Glory, a 31-year-old food vendor, the protests have brought a sense of unity among the protesters and even though Christmas wasn’t celebrated ‘as usual’ this year, there is a fervent sense of unity among the protesters.

The food prepared was free of charge prepared by several restaurants and sponsored by donations.

The protests are nowhere near ending as the protesters continue to express displeasure and marched across the Christmas decorated streets despite being pepper-sprayed and tear-gassed by police officials.

For a 20-year-old student identified as Ivan, who waited over an hour to receive his meal, from the Kwong Wing Restaurant, he says he feels comforted despite getting tear-gassed the previous day.
