The Nigerian Government will need to halt any plan to sell the health sector and ensure the return of heads of hospitals as administrators and not Doctors as it was prior to 1987.
President, Medical and Health Workers Union, Josiah Biobelemoye, made the call at a media briefing said it is for more efficiency in the system.
The labour leader also wants the government to prosecute the embattled Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Professor Usman Yusuf if the committee’s report submitted to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation finds him culpable of financial mismanagement.
On December 24, 2018, the Presidential Independent Fact-Finding Panel submitted its report to the SGF, Boss Mustapha, who assured members of the Committee that the report would be expeditiously processed for implementation.
