For his continued efforts at establishing a legal framework for promoting Women’s rights in Namibia, President Hage Geingob is to receive the African Excellence award for the African Gender Award tomorrow in Windhoek.
Namibia has been through reforms and registered numerous progress encouraging gender parity in areas of health, security, education and governance.
Other African presidents who have previously received the award include Abdoulaye Wade, Senegal; Paul Kagame, Rwanda; Armando Guebuza, Mozambique; Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf of Liberia, and Thabo Mbeki of South Africa.
