Families and relatives of the six persons killed in Waasimi, a community in Osun state are still in the mourning mood when reporters visited the place on Monday.
The killing which occurred on Sunday night claimed the lives of six persons while one person who sustained a gunshot wound is being treated in the hospital.
Waasinmi is located along Ife Ibadan road.
An eyewitness who is also a son of one of the deceased said that the gunmen arrived on two motorcycles and called out his father, mother, stepmother, and three of their grandchildren from their rooms and shot them.
He said he ran into the bush to escape being killed.
Everyone was in a sober mood as they said the attackers caught them unaware.
The State Deputy Governor visited the scene of the incident accompanied by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Abiodun Ige.
