Twenty-one persons have been killed in different communities of Shiroro Local Government Area in Niger State, by a large number of gunmen.
The gunmen also abducted over 40 persons from the four communities of Kurege, Sabon Gida, Sararai, and Rafin Kanya.
An eyewitness and a native of one of the villages, Galadima Salisu, said the gunmen who were about 300, rode on motorcycles.
He added that on arriving the villages, they shot sporadically, scaring the people who sought for safety in the nearby bushes and villages.
Communities in Shiroro Local Government Area have become target for bandits.
