Manchester City’s coach has disclosed his desire of his captain, Vincent Kompany extending his stay at the club.
The defender is out of contract at the end of this season and is set to have a testimonial next summer, having spent 10 years at the club.
His first start in over a month was at the midweek Carabao Cup victory over Oxford and Guardiola was impressed with his captain’s performance and attitude.
Kompany, who has been plagued with injuries his whole career is no longer a first choice at the club and at the age of 32, will find playing time hard to come by; hence, this may well be the Belgian’s last season at the club.
