Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has downplayed any misunderstanding perceived to be between himself and his predecessor who is the immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole.

This was at a 3-fold event held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cathedral in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of the State.

The events were the investiture of three papal chamberlains and 23 knights and medalists; the centenary birthday of Monsignor Thomas Oleghen and the 18th canonical erection anniversary of the Diocese.

The events were celebrations that attracted eminent personalities including Governor Godwin Obaseki and his predecessor, Adams Oshiomhole with both seeing face to face for the first after the contentious 2020 governorship election. The build-up to the election resulted in Governor Obaseki pitching a tent with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the former Governor forced out of office as APC National Chairman.

It is against this backdrop that Adams Oshiomhole acknowledges the presence of his successor at the ceremony. On his part, the Governor says there are no personal issues between them.

Obaseki has pledged the support of the Edo State Government to the building of a 100-capacity hostel for the Catholic school of Nursing and Midwifery Uzairue.
