Governor Ishaku described her as a woman of great courage and noted that her death is a personal loss to him.

The Governor noted that Alhassan’s contributions have made a great impact on the social and political emancipation of women in Taraba State and the country.

He also prayed to God to grant her family the fortitude to bear the great loss.

Alhassan, popularly known as “Mama Taraba”, was a Senator representing Taraba North in the National Assembly,  a former Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, and the major contender in the Taraba State governorship election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress in 2015.
