Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has presented before the State House of Assembly the sum of 294.5 billion naira budget for the 2022 fiscal year.
The proposal tagged budget of growth and opportunities takes 52.97 per cent of capital expenditure which will capture major projects in the state.
Going by the breakdown of the budget, infrastructure got the highest allocation with 29.11 per cent; this is to reduce infrastructure deficit, followed by educational sector with 20.87 per cent, while health sector has 5.23 per cent, and agribusiness 4.54 per cent.
Governor Makinde expressed optimism that the 2022 budget of growth and opportunities will keep the state on the track to prosperity.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Adebo Ogundoyin, said the budget presentation is a milestone.
He, therefore, promised that the House would give it timely and diligent consideration.
