Gays and Lesbians in Kenya are rejoicing as the court of Appeal has granted freedom to register their umbrella body.
The judgement was delivered last Friday, where the court of appeal held the decision of not denying them their fundamental human rights, irrespective of how they choose to live.
Representing the LGBT community, Justice Waki said that the community has a right to freedom of association and therefore should not be criminalised when they want to form their group.
However, the decision was not welcomed by some members of the law who saw the case as capable of destroying the cultural values of Kenyans. Image credit: CP24
