MOTO GP: Maverick Vinales clinches Emilia Romagna Grand Prix

Spain’s Maverick Vinales on Sunday won the Emilia-Romagna MotoGP to move within one point up the championship table, while fellow countrymen Joan Mir, and Pol Espargaro finished second and third place respectively.

Italy’s Andrea Dovizioso took the eight position to climb one point ahead of Quartararo and Vinales respectively in the championship lead. The Spaniard grabbed his opportunity to become the sixth champion in seven MotoGP races this season.

25-year-old Vinales, who struggled from pole in the first Misano race last week as a result of an incorrect tyre choice, defended the lead finishing more than four seconds clear after Espargaro and Quartararo had tyre troubles.

The next race of the 2020 World Championship hs been scheduled for Saturday, September 26, the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya with the Qualification race, followed by the final race on September 27, 2020.
