Former VC of Federal University of Agriculture arraigned for ₦70.3 Million Fraud

The former Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Markurdi in Benue State, Emmanuel Kucha has been arraigned before the Federal High Court in Markurdi on four counts charges of abuse of office, misappropriation of public funds, conspiracy and bribery.

Mr Kucha was allegedly charged with accepting the sum of seventy million. three hundred and twenty-seven thousand, one hundred and ninety-seven Naira as a form of bribe by the EFCC.

Mr Kucha has, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him, thus the prosecuting counsel requested for a trial commencement date whilst he is to remain in Custody.

Mr Kucha was granted a 10 Million naira bail with a surety in like sum. The surety is expected to be a civil servant and within the jurisdiction of the court, submit two recent passport photographs and address verified.

He is expected to remain in police custody until his bail conditions are met.
