Mahmud Muhammad Tukur

A former Minister of Commerce and Industries during the military regime of Major General Muhammadu Buhari and the first Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano, BUK, Mahmud Muhammad Tukur, is dead.

Tukur died in the early hours of Friday in Abuja, after a brief illness. He was born in 1939 in Yola, Adamawa state.

He is survived by three wives, nine children and many distinguished brothers, prominent among his brothers are a global industrialist and a world-renowned, business Mogul, Alhaji Bamanga Muhammad Tukur, the former Governor of the defunct Gongola State, one-time Minister of Industries another time former Peoples Democratic Party Chairman and another prominent business mogul and an industrialist, Alhaji Bashir Muhammad Tukur.
