Diego Costa’s imminent transfer to Wolves has been delayed after the Spanish international was refused a work permit.
Wolves had hoped to bring in the 33-year-old in time for Saturday’s match against Liverpool after summer signing, Sasa Kalajdzic picked up an anterior cruciate ligament injury during their victory over Southampton the last weekend.
Wolves have appealed the decision to the Football Association in the hopes that it will be overturned. They are expected to have a final answer within 48 hours.
