Nigeria Women Football League and WAFU B Champions, Bayelsa Queens will today face Mamelodi Sundowns in their first game of the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco.

Bayelsa Queens and Mamelodi Sundowns are drawn in Group B, which also has the Egyptian side, Wadi Degla, and TP Mazembe.

While Sundowns are coming into the second edition as defending champions, Bayelsa Queens also have qualified for the tournament with an impressive record after winning the West African Football Union (WAFU) B’s zonal qualifiers in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

The competition, which began last year, is part of CAF’s efforts in developing women’s football in the continent.
