A set of conjoined twins, one-year-old girls backing each other have been successfully separated after over 12 hours of surgery with the help of several specialists across the globe.
The procedure, the first of its kind at the Soroka Medical Centre and all of Israel took several months of preparation and had only been done 20 times across the globe.
Dr. Owase Jeelani, a Pediatric Neurosurgeon at the Great Ormond Street Hospital lauded the procedure and affirmed it was successful. Read his statements below:
